Summer Art Camp

A Great Way for Kids to Spend Their Summer Break!

Mission: Renaissance Summer Art Camps offer a Fun, Educational and Enriching program for kids age 5 – 12. Our Summer Art Camps provide one-on-one instruction in a fun and safe learning environment.

Each Mission: Renaissance art instructor is extensively trained and certified in The Gluck Method of fine art instruction and work one-on-one with students to help them gain a solid foundation in fine art.

Our easy to follow, step-by-step program provides each child with the knowledge and skills they need to unleash his or her creativity and the ability to produce beautiful works of art. Also, by maintaining an average of only 6 students per instructor, our children’s art classes are structured to ensure that each student receives the best art instruction available.

Students, as young as 5, begin gaining a solid foundation in how to draw and how to paint from the very first art class they attend. Using a charcoal pencil and pastels, students learn to build a drawing through the use of simple shapes and then how to create colorful, 3-dimensional effects, resulting in their finished work looking more life-like.

The amazing world of watercolor painting is the next step for students. Each child learns about their watercolor materials and how to use them effectively to create wonderful watercolor paintings. Students also learn the difference between primary, secondary and complimentary colors and learn how to mix a wide array of colors. The result is what can only be described as “incredible” works of art.

Learning to paint in oils is the next adventure in our kids art classes. A series of specifically designed painting drills are completed by the students, each helping to build greater understanding and artistic skill. Students learn techniques used by great master painters of the past, such as: Monet, Manet, Cezanne’, Rembrandt and more.

With the techniques taught in our Summer Art Camps students create amazing works of art and eventually their own original paintings in whatever style they choose.

Flexible scheduling allows you to choose from either Full-Day (9:00 – 2:30) or Half-Day (9:00 – 11:30) camp periods to tailor camp to fit your child’s other Summer Break activities.

The morning sessions are devoted to our regular program where children learn how to draw and paint using the renowned Gluck Method of Fine Art Instruction.

This specialized program, taught exclusively at Mission: Renaissance is designed so that each child can progress at their own rate of learning with a highly trained instructor guiding them all the way.

After a short lunch break, our Full-Day Campers can continue on their work or may participate in one of our Famous Artists projects, learning about the Great Masters and their works.

Schedules and dates vary in each studio so please check your local studio for available dates and times using the links below.

“I found out about Mission: Renaissance when I was five. This has been my all time favorite art class ever! I have learned so many techniques in the world of art, and the instructors really helped me. Mission: Renaissance basically started my love for art and it is now my favorite activity. Thank you for helping me discover my true passion!!!”
Ally - Age: 11
” After just one class, my daughter Julia insisted that I switch her. I was amazed to see her first drawing. I could not believe my own 5 year-old daughter could draw something like that! This is the best decision I’ve ever made for my daughter! We’ve discovered that with proper and professional guiding, Julia does have a strong passion and talent for art.”
Mary - Parent
“Before I started in Mission: Renaissance seventh grade was tough. I was getting C’s in some of my classes. But then my parents signed me up for art classes for my birthday. Once I started I applied the rules in art to my learning and my grades. Suddenly my grades began to rise. Just after a few lessons at Mission: Renaissance, my grades changed from B’s and C’s to A’s and a few B’s. I also took the steps in art and applied it to my homework. The process helped me to remember to do my homework and not slack off.”
M.L. - Teen
“I never knew that Art had much more to it than enjoying it. After I came to Mission: Renaissance Fine Art classes, I found out so much more about art the first day I came here! Now, I feel like 27-year-old artist.
Valentina - Age: 7
